President's Day Weekend in St. George

John had meetings in St. George on Wednesday and Thursday so Garrett took the St. George shuttle early Friday morning so he could work with John that day and I picked Hailey and Riley up from Provo when they were off work at 5 pm and we got there later Friday night. Grayson had activities all weekend so he stayed home.

This pretty much sums up Cooper's weekend.

This pretty much sums up Garrett's weekend.

We did go to the St. George Parade of Homes in rainy weather and enjoyed seeing several million-dollar homes.

Went to church, played pickleball, played board games, ate in restaurants, cooked many meals, stood in line for 30 min. for a Croshaw chocolate mousse pie and took lots of walks. We were so sad to see the duck pond had turned into a mud pond.

February Valentine Fun!

The month started out with the WXHS Sweethearts Dance. It was girl's choice and Grayson's friend Isabel asked him to go.

The cute 8-9 year-old Activity Day girls made a Valentine stop with cards and candy for their favorite Primary President...

Nelly & Lula Rogers were my dates to Beauty and the Beast at WXHS since John was out of town and Erica just had her baby.

Got to feed mom her salmon lunch on Valentines Day before heading to dinner with John at Ruth's Chris and the Gentri concert.

Dad took his girls (minus mom) for our annual Valentine lunch at Market Street Grill the day after Valentines...

Cooper's Valentine was a spa day!

Future Missionary!

OK--this just happened!!! Mission papers have been submitted and hoping for a call sometime in March when he'll be 120 days out from his availability date :)

Tubing at Soldier Hollow

Papa had a tubing part at Soldier Hollow followed by a buffet dutch oven lunch for the Metropolitan Water employees and board members (which he is Vice Chairman). He was able to invite family members so Hailey, Riley, John and I joined him for a few hours of fun. It was cold but comfortable and once we got Papa to hook his tube with ours and go in a train, he had as much fun as the rest of us!

Most Snow I Can Remember!

The Bountiful Bench got SO much snow in January! Unfortunately, our snow blower was in for repairs most of the month and we did a lot of hand shoveling until we finally called a friend to bring his heavy-duty tractor and snow removal machine. Thank you Dave Gourley for saving us! (
Cooper absolutely loved being outside while we shoveled though...)

January Auto Show

We love our annual tradition of attending the Auto Show on Martin Luther King day at the Sandy Expo Center. We've done it since the kids were little and the "boys" still love it!

January Reception in Lewiston

We were excited to attend one more wedding celebration for the happy couple in Lewiston, Idaho on January 14 for Riley's family and friends. The reception was held in the Orchid Room in Morgan's Alley and I wish I'd taken more photos of the quaint location. Prior to the reception we took Riley and Hailey to lunch at one of his favorite spots, John and I went to a movie and John, Riley and his dad went to an indoor shooting range. Even though we were only there about 24 hours we had a lot of fun and saw the area where Riley grew up.

Riley's stepmom Janet made a delicious cake with each layer a different flavor. I tried them all and honestly thought it was some of the most delicious-tasting cake I've had!

January Basketball

Grayson has always loved playing church basketball. This year, he and Mitchell are the only seniors on the team and they're undefeated after three games with scores blowing out the other teams by 40.

The WXHS boys basketball team is also undefeated and Grayson is one of their biggest fans since all of his buddies are on the team.
