Thanksgiving WEEK in St. George!

You got that right--a whole week! Arrived in St. George Monday night and got home Sunday night. Such a fun week! The only thing we were missing was Elder Tebbs...

We mountain biked, went to Fiesta Fun, played card and board games, put together a puzzle, opened Christmas stockings, played tennis, pickleball, soccer and four-square, took Cooper on walks to the duck pond, Black Friday shopping, rode motorcycles, ATVs and a 4x4, attended a session at the St. George Temple and saw the temple Christmas lights, and ate EVERY MEAL at home except for one. That's 16 home-cooked meals and I was so glad I cooked, baked and froze lots of things that made preparation quick, easy, non-stressful and left lots of time to play.

Visiting the Coffeys in SoCal

Trying to fit in my birthday present from John this year of a 2 or 3-day trip per month has gotten tricky because we're still so busy as empty nesters--haha! We combined a couple of things I wanted to do this trip... try Allegiant Air from Ogden Airport to LAX and visit Hillary and Patrick to do a little birthday celebrating for Hillary's 26th birthday next week since we don't live nearby. Loved the wide aisles of Allegiant Air plane and easy parking literally in front of the Ogden Airport entrance for $3.50/day.

Loved our hotel in Costa Mesa, the view out back and the lovely walks we went on each morning around the South Coast Mall area.

We flew in on a Thursday night and Hillary picked us up bright and early Friday morning to stop at Sidecar doughnuts for the most AMAZING things I've ever tasted. We got 7 kinds and tasted each one... Huckleberry, Maple Bacon, Pumpkin, Butter & Salt, Carrot Cake, Apple Fritter and Cinnamon Crumble. There was a reason the line was out the door!

No worries about the donut calories because Hillary had a hike planned for us. We did Back Bay Loop and finished the whole 10+miles in 2-1/2 hours.

We met Patrick that evening in Newport Beach at Great Mex for dinner then took the Balboa Ferry over to Balboa Island for a stroll, Balboa bars and frozen banana and a ferris wheel ride.

Saturday morning we tried to eat at the Beachcomber Cafe but didn't want to wait an hour so we climbed the hill and ate at Ruby's Shake Shack and still had a great view of the ocean.

We went on a tour of the Queen Mary, saw a 4D movie and Titanic Exhibit and then headed to BJs in Laguna for Hillary's birthday dinner and pizookie dessert. We found another candy bin store and some sugar-free treats as well and cashed in another fun day!

We went on a beautiful morning hike with Hillary and Patrick at the Pacific Ridge Trailhead Sunday before church and then attended their meetings and headed to the airport for our flight home. Great 3-day trip all the way around!

Garrett turns 24!

We celebrated Garrett's 24th birthday at his favorite place--Buffalo Wild Wings. He ordered 17 of his favorite wings and sauces and got a birthday dessert to boot. He's such a great fun guy to be around and he deserves the wonderful things coming his way!!

October Festivities

Hailey, Julia and I went to a pie-making and soup class in Lehi with Si Foster (a Bountiful Kitchen). Very educational and the tasting at the end was delicious...

It's always a great day to find a photo of Elder Tebbs on Facebook posted by his companion's mom!

Halloween was fun and we all dressed up for our various parties. Cooper was his usual ice cream sundae and was "frozen" in place...

We had the kids, Michelle, Papa and Collin and Lacey up for chili, cornbread, caramel apple bar and pumpkin carving. They are great carvers!

The kids stayed and played a few games...

John and I attended the Passey's awesome Halloween bash they put on almost every year. This year's theme was the 80's and we pulled it off with John in his Miami Vice gear and I wore my 1988 wedding dress that surprisingly still fit! Our gang always goes all out for these costume parties and the food is amazing as well.
