BNP Paribas Open - Indian Wells Masters

Went on a quick, fun-filled road trip with Lauretta to the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, CA March 11-14. We met up with Kristen who was already there with some friends and we joined them for the last few days of their week's stay at Worldmark Indio. Temperature was perfect and tennis was fantastic!

We arrived before they opened the gates every day so we'd get front row seats in our general admission stadiums. Kristen was in a suite in Stadium 1 so she switched back and forth depending on who was playing on which court. Lauretta and I borrowed some badges to get in to watch Venus play in Stadium 1 and a couple who was leaving for the day gave us their third row seats one evening. All in all, we saw great tennis and had the best views for all of it.

As we were driving out of Indio on our way home, we stopped at Shields Date Gardens where my parents took me every year growing up for the annual Date Festival and parade at the end of February. It brought back wonderful memories and I drank a date shake in my mom's honor as it was one of her favorite treats we'd get at Shields.

February Fun & a Little March Madness

Michelle and I have gone to lunch on Valentines Day with our parents for years. This is the 2nd Valentines Day where our mom hasn't been with us since she's been in her memory care facility but we're happy our dad wants to continue the tradition.

John sent a fun Valentine surprise and Cooper is the whole family's Valentine year-round :)

Our whole family went to St. George for President's Day weekend. The guys went motorcycling and shooting and the girls got massages and lots of yummy treats at Dutchman's Market.

Each of the married couples were given a small budget to decorate their St. George bedrooms and they got off to a good start with getting some headboards. Hailey and Riley got their room 90% done and Cooper loves them all!

On my drive home from St. George, I stopped to have dinner and catch up with Cameron & Erin's family who came to visit their families in Vegas and Davis County and enjoy some skiing. Always fun to see the NY Kings!

March brought the winter snowstorms we missed this year. Church was canceled the first Sunday in March due to the 18 inches we received.

John and I were invited by one of his business associates to attend the BYU Presidential Leadership Council's bi-annual meeting in the Hinckley Center at BYU, lunch, touring the three BYU campus museums, elegant dinner and Chamber orchestra performance. We enjoyed the experience and the people we met, however the $1 million price tag to be a member is a little out of our budget--haha!!

Our annual St. Patrick's dinner at Mandarin :)
