Happy Birthday to Me!

I usually plan my own birthday events so I know I will enjoy every minute of my day! :) Started the morning off with pickleball with Hailey, Riley and John, a long walk with Cooper, worked my shift at the temple and headed out to Beehive to say Happy Birthday to mom. I think she knew we were celebrating something together... Lunch at Cubby's with dad, Michelle, Hailey & Riley, a 4:00 show of Newsies at Hale Theater and the most amazing dinner at Valter's to top off the night.
Happy birthday to me--I'm 53!

Midwest Trip - Days 4 & 5

On Sunday we headed north to the Chicago temple and the Arlington Heights 2nd Ward. Lunch at Lou Malnatti's with another birthday celebration treat for me and then back to Sheboygan next to Lake Michigan and Garrett and Julia's home for dinner.

On Monday, we had to say our goodbyes to Garrett and Julia since they had to go back to work and we stopped by Garrett's job site to see the project he's working on, the new Kohler Arts Center. From there we headed to Milwaukee for the rest of the day until our flight left. We toured the Harley Davison Museum, Milwaukee Public Market and the historic Third Ward District. I love the Midwest! Until next time...

Midwest Trip - Day 3

With rain forecasted for the weekend we were worried our Segway tour would be canceled. However, we threw on our rain jackets and headed out with just our tour guide as everyone else in the group opted out. The rain made it much more exciting and fun! We practiced indoors and then headed to Navy Pier, the Museum Campus and Millenium Park.

The rain let up just in time for our architectural river cruise which was interesting and informative. Great tour!

Stopped in to tour the Saturday Night Live Experience then headed back to our hotel to change for my pre-birthday dinner celebration at House of Blues and HAMILTON!

Midwest Trip - Day 2

After getting rained out on our scheduled kayak cave tour in Door County, Wisconsin we drove from Green Bay to Kohler which is the town next to Sheboygan where Garrett and Julia are living. We went on an amazing 3-hour tour of all of its factories and then had a delicious lunch at Greecy E Spoon in downtown Sheboygan.

After lunch we headed to Chicago which was one of the reasons we made the trip. Garrett and Julia had never been there and we wanted to show them the sights. I love Chicago! We went to the Willes Tower Skydeck and enjoyed the scenery. Dinner at Gino's East, Garrett Popcorn, concert in Millenium Park and the "bean."
