Thanksgiving 2023

On Thanksgiving Eve we went to Mark & LeeAnn's ward building and hung out with their kids and grandkids that were around as well as with ours and ordered pizza and played pickleball. Lots of fun catching up and the kids had a blast!

I had lots of help this year hosting Thanksgiving in our new home! Garrett smoked an amazing turkey which Papa paid for, Riley brought sweet potato casserole, Hailey made deviled eggs, Julia brought fruit, Caroline brought a salad, Papa brought apple pie and I did the rest! We had a delicious meal and everyone ate well!

The evolution of the Gethsemane quartet... and then there were four...

After the rest of the family went home that night and Patrick headed to a movie, John & I hopped in the car with Hillary and her kids and drove to Spanish Fork for a Christmas light show that was opened on Thanksgiving night! It had just started to snow and it was so festive and fun.

The next morning...

Since it was snowy and cold, we took all the kids to Coconut Cove in Lindon and then to lunch at the Harley Davidson restaurant just down the street...

Rounded off the month going with Hailey's family to the Butterfly Biosphere and the girls were absolutely thrilled with everything!

November Nuggets...

Hailey, Julia, Caroline and I went to Pinner's Conference at the Sandy Expo Center--first time for all of us. Next year, we all want to go without kids--haha!

While John was hosting clients in Pennsylvania and a BYU game, I drove to Vegas to have a Lolli day with Taeya. I watched her play soccer, then we went to get lunch at the place of her choice (Chick-Fil-A), shopping at the store of her choice (Target), and treat of her choice at Whole Foods (Acai Bowl). We had a blast during the four hours we got to spend together. Then I drove back to St. George and home to Highland.

Dad and I made a visit to Lakeview Cemetery to see mom's gravestone that was finally installed. We loved it. We also visited other family that are all close in proximity...

Dad was diagnosed with colon cancer in September and he decided to forego surgery, chemo and radiation but was willing to try immunotherapy treatments. He will start with eight treatments, once every three weeks and then we'll see how they're affecting the cancer. Infusion #1 was smooth, with no side affects.

We FINALLY got the final metal railing put in by the slide and will enjoy having it when we can open up the pool again next spring!

Took another trip to St. George and Garrett's family happened to be going down for some sunshine too. We visited the Children's Museum in the morning and then went to dinner and Gentri with the Kings at Tuacahn that night. I loved listening to one of my favorite groups sing Christmas music.
