4th of July Holiday Weekend!

We hosted what I believe has become an annual event (two years in a row now!) My cousin Jessica from Tennessee and her family came to stay overnight with us on their way to BYU sports camps and we had a family BBQ, played volleyball and made S'mores prior to watching the Eaglewood Fireworks. The 30-minute fireworks show never disappoints and the weather was perfect this year!

Our 4th of July plans changed when Grayson woke up with the stomach flu so instead of parades, food and festivities in Provo with the kids, John and I found a new hiking trail across from the temple next to Holbrook Trail which we know and love... We were able to get Garrett to go to dinner and a movie with us that evening so we felt like there was a smidgen of celebrating going on!

Pre-4th of July Celebrations!

Hailey and her friend Kelli hosted a bridal shower for their high school cheer friend Kambree. The girls are both bridesmaids and can't wait until Kambree is sealed to her best friend in a few short weeks! It was also fun to see other familiar faces from the Woods Cross Cheer squad...

We attended the annual car show at Eaglewood Golf Course on Friday, July 1. The exotic cars are always the hot ticket items along with the couples that posed next to them...

Wrapping up June...

I was so lucky to help out at Nelly's birthday party. She turned 5 and invited most of the CTR 4 kids from Primary. They are all darling! They decorated individual cakes and had a dance party. So fun!!

Grayson sold his truck and bought another used car. It's stick and he loves it. He works 40 hours a week at Rand's Auto detailing cars and once he graduates and leaves on his mission next year he'll sell this car and be able to pay for his whole mission!

Ragnar - Wasatch Back

Van 2 was AMAZING this year for the Wasatch Back Ragnar Relay. Good thing I like them all a lot because I spent 2 days in a car with them running, eating, sleeping and no showering! AJ and Suzette Jackson were fierce competitors, Carl and Michelle Rasmusen always prove age has no bearing on tough, long legs and Hillary is always consistently fast. Awesome team!!

I got to captain the van so I told everyone what to do and they did it! :)

After one really hot leg for each of us and a middle of the night run, we met up with Van 1 after they finished their third and final leg and we were beginning our last one from Park City to Soldier Hollow.

Michelle's 3rd leg was gruesome--6.1 miles of almost vertical dirt trail from Park City Ski Resort to the top of Guardsman's Pass--and it took most runners 90-150 min!

Our team running down to the finish line with Carl who just finished the last 5.8 mile leg.

Our team did well!  Completed 188 miles in 29 hours and 28 minutes!!

Best part of the race was having Hillary run it with me! Can't wait til the insanity again next year!!
