Tending Two Coffeys...

Hillary, Patrick and Cora went to Europe and Taeya and Beckham came to St. George... Before they left we celebrated Taeya's 4th birthday in Vegas with her immediate family and celebrated later up north on her actual birthday with extended family.

We drove the kids to St. George from Vegas and averaged three parks per day, lots of food, splash pads and naps. Enjoyed the Children's Museum and playing at our house. 

Mid-week we drove to Saratoga Springs so the kids could stay with Caroline and Grayson for a couple days and also play with Sadie and Luke. We went to Fat Cats, Library Storytime, and Sadie and Taeya got their nails done, went to our new house and the Saratoga Springs Temple open house with Papa and Kings before Taeya's birthday party at Garrett & Julia's house.

We wrapped up their final day with the Saratoga Springs parade and then drove back to St. George to sleep before returning the kids to their mom in Las Vegas... and that was "Fun Week" which John called it so the kids would be excited to come!

Grammy Graduated

Mom began actively "transitioning" on Thursday, June 1. Her oxygen was dropping and her heart rate was speeding up. The hospice nurse stopped all her meds and put her on morphine and Lorazipan to keep her comfortable. No more eating or drinking. Michelle and I drove up to Beehive Homes and stayed with her round the clock for a couple days and even slept in her room on the couch and her recliner. She was completely comatose and began taking 2-3 breaths per minute. Steve King gave her a beautiful blessing of release but mom seemed determined to stay for a bit longer. 

The hospice nurse was astounded she was still with us two days after this all began. She said sometimes a person doesn't want to go when their family is there. Late Saturday morning, we knew it would be close. The hospice nurse said she would stay and get her washed and in a fresh nightgown from 10-11am. Dad, Michelle and I left for the first time in a couple days to buy her a new Temple Dress at Deseret Book. They didn't have the veil we needed so we quickly drove to the Riverton Deseret Book. We were gone exactly an hour. We literally walked back into Beehive at 11am and she passed as we walked in, just before we walked into her room. She knew it would be easier on us if we weren't there for that moment. Very peaceful... one last breath the nurse said... and she was gone. The nurse pronounced her time of death at 11:13am. What a joyful reunion she must've had with Nana, Gramps, Marilyn & Chad.

 

MAY Celebrations!

 MOTHER'S DAY - May 14, 2023

Drove up to see mom on Mother's Day and attended sacrament meeting with her and dad. Garrett's family had us over for a nice meal and games.

Got to celebrate Caroline's birthday a week early and a day late for Julia's, and Hailey celebrated her birthday with her family in Post Falls

Cora turned ONE and we let her open her gifts a week early since they were in St. George. She especially loved the wrapping paper :)
