Annual Beach Week!

We love our annual family tradition of a week at Capistrano Surfside Inn. The last few years we've been going in the Spring but decided to try October this time. It never got hot and stayed in the 70s the majority of the time--both the highs and the lows. The cousins had a lot of fun together and created lots of new memories...

Since check in is 4pm Sunday, most of us arrived that evening flying in from Utah. Papa always gives us money for a meal "on him" at El Torito so that's where we headed for our first dinner.

TONS of beach time--their favorite place!

Also spent many hours at the pool...

The families with kids spent a day at Disneyland and the whole group spent a day at Knott's Berry Farm... there were even a couple of rides the whole family could go on together.

Our favorite thing is just hanging out together and letting the kids enjoy each other's company...

And we always take advantage of the rare times all 18 of us (almost 19) are in one place and we snap a family picture before it's outdated a few months later--haha! Sure do love this amazing family of mine!

Happy 91st DYM!

We had all of the Utah family members come to Papa's 91st birthday party at our house. Michelle and Steve provided the BBQ chicken and baked potatoes and toppings, I made Grammy's rolls, corn, salad and watermelon. Courtnie made two amazing birthday cakes. We ate and we swam. Everyone had lots of fun and the little kids had a blast on the slide. We also celebrated Papa at our Sunday family dinner and then again on his actual birthday when John and I took him to one of his favorite restaurants, Texas Roadhouse. Hope he felt spoiled and loved!

October Beauty!

Fall in Utah is beautiful! We drove up the Alpine Loop and saw all the changing leaves before the cold weather sets in...

Another reunion with my old quartet Party of 4! Its been almost 20 years since we sang at our kids' schools, ward events and work parties. So fun to get together!

We tended Garrett & Julia's kids so they could go to the temple and I finally got to see sweet Senna's smile and John told his famous bedtime stories... Purple Ape, the Boy & the Yellow Skateboard and the Polka-Dotted Caterpillar.

Another fun activity was attending Corn Belly's in Spanish Fork with the fam and enjoying the last of the beautiful warm weather. The kids had a great time and loved the train ride and playing in the corn.
