"One of these things is not like the other..."

Remember that song from Sesame Street? When I saw Grayson in his first Junior High basketball game today (the only 7th grader to make the team), that old Sesame Street song ran through my mind...

Even though he's the smallest on the team, he's a starter on the J.V. team and played a lot of the game.

The unfortunate thing is that as a 7th grader he got the last pick of uniforms and was left with a men's LARGE. C'mon, really?! The jersey is like a dress when it's not tucked in and the shorts are capris.

He's living his dream though and said he had to pinch himself after the coach told him he made it because he couldn't believe his dream came true!

Here's to a heck of a lot of basketball in the next few months... (just got home from the 3rd game today!)

All in Vain????

I drove down my driveway yesterday and did a double-take...

Garrett and some friends were "getting ready" for the big Woods Cross vs. Bountiful football game. They heard this was THE year.

They looked great, had fun until we got creamed 44-21. That makes it 21, 22 or 23 years in a row that we've lost to Bountiful!!!! And I was at the game--it is totally mental with our team. I just don't get it...

Maybe next year when Hailey is a Senior...

She Kind Of Scares Me!

Apparently, the BYU Women's Lacrosse team drove to Colorado on Friday to play against CU, Regis and CSU on Saturday.

I happened to call Hillary on Friday afternoon to ask her a question and she said she was on her way to Colorado... that's how much prior info. I was privy to. I guess now that she's a Jr. and turning 20 in a couple months she doesn't have to "clear" things with mom and dad...

The weather was pretty nasty but one of the dads took lots of photos (thank you!)

I found a lot of shots of Hillary that showed her looking pretty mean and aggressive--kind of scary actually.

Heard she scored a few goals...

She said all the running she's been doing really helped her game.

... or maybe it was the blonde streak in her hair.

All I know, is that's my girl!!!

Grayson started Fall comp. league for basketball. His team lost a heartbreaker by 1 point in the final second (literally) of the game. Grayson played awesome offensively--this is when he stole the ball for a fast break and scored.

He was also amazing on defense and heard from one of his teammates that this guy he guarded all night said he couldn't do anything because Grayson was on him like glue.

Happy Anniversary to Us!

I have now been married as many years as I haven't (if that makes sense)--23 to be exact.


Found a GREAT deal at a new wellness resort and spa in Puerto Vallarta for 4 days so I booked it for our Anniversary last week. It's their off-season so we literally had the whole place to ourselves...

Beach water temp. was about 87 degrees. Very nice.

It was really hot (95) and humid every day so we were pretty sweaty all the time. Running isn't that fun in that temp. so I got John to attend a yoga class, meditation class and two couples massages in air-conditioned spaces.

He loved it...

It was fun to have two kids going to the Homecoming Dance this year...

Garrett took Becca (I LOVED her dress).

Hailey was asked by Justin who's a senior. She's barely 16--and he's got facial hair!!!

They were able to sneak in one picture together but ended up not being in the same group...

John and Garrett both have motorcycles and spend many Saturday afternoons riding, having a great time together. Grayson wanted in on the fun so he's been searching KSL.com and found the perfect "ride" for himself...
