We left at 5 a.m. on New Year's Eve day and pulled into St. George at 9:30 a.m. The kids slept the whole way so they thought it was the fastest trip ever. I had "I Love Lucy" DVDs playing on the computer while I drove.
We visited a new park after we ate at In N' Out (refuse to sit in the line for the one in Draper).
Even John enjoyed himself.
We hit The Pizza Factory that night and the kids swam in the pool for several hours, celebrated with poppers and streamers and then woke up late New Years Day.
John and I wanted to go hiking on the trails at Snow Canyon but Hailey was not excited.
We let her run the video camera and she immediately changed her tune.
We found a bystander on one of the trails to take a shot of the 4 of us (Garrett went with a friend and family to their cabin for the week and Hillary wanted to spend New Years Eve with her friends).

How fun! I love spontaneous things like that. I love the story of the two trails not meeting. Too funny! I could use some sun about now...Hawaii????
That is my kind of New Years!!!! Especially the warm part! Someday we will have a place in St. George that I can get away to whenever I want to defrost!!!
I LOVE St. George, and like you, I will go any chance I can, even if it's only for 24 hours! That park is near our condo and we go all the time...my favorite is sitting on the "porch" swings on a warm summer night.
I am completely jealous. Spontaneous trips are the only way to go.
SPONTANEOUS!!!!! That's a good thing, and something I need to get better at! Someday, I'll make it down to the red rocks for some amazing photography!!! WELCOME TO 2010!
You guys know how to have fun! I admire how well your kids get along and how close you are! What a great New Years in the SUN!
