What did you get for Christmas?

Almost felt like a wedding registry as Hillary wanted LOTS of kitchen items...

Thought this was the only thing Garrett was getting for Christmas--a fractured wrist while snowboarding at Park City on Christmas Eve.

He was lucky and got a few things he really wanted and needed...

Hailey said this was one of her best Christmases (she says that every year) and she got everything she asked for...

Grayson was very excited about Kindle and Amazon gift card which he immediately used ordering books and a case with a light...

Cooper got a snuggie and a mini pillow pet... loves the pet--the snuggie, not so much.

This week...

... we're hangin' with this guy every night at the Jerry Sloan Basketball Tournament in Lehi. Won the first game last night--two to go!

WXHS Christmas Dance

The cheerleaders sponsored this dance so all 20 of them went together with their dates in two limos to dinner and then back to the dance and then to Ultimate Indoor Soccer for games, movie and chocolate fountain.

John and I were chaperones and took tickets/money at the door. I guess I should say "I took" tickets/money as John had work to do and "took" his computer...

A cute story: As you know Garrett was the Christmas Dance King. When they announced the dance for the King and Queen to dance together, the Queen was nowhere to be found. Garrett was standing there a little awkwardly, not quite sure what to do, and Hailey stepped up and danced with him. Glad we were there to see that...

Hillary is getting a music minor at BYU and has to participate in four semesters of an ensemble. She is in the University Chorale and had a concert Thursday night.

It was a real treat to hear this group perform and they did everything from classical to Christmas and Irish to Negro Spirituals.

Hillary also has a new "friend" named Patrick. He's from Las Vegas and graduates from BYU in Accounting in April.

We are very proud parents!

WXHS Christmas Assembly

The photo quality is atrocious due to light, distance and inadequate photographer, but the memories must be preserved...

I attended the WXHS Christmas Assembly today because my kids were involved. Garrett was selected as the Winter Dance King for the upcoming dance on Saturday.

His baby picture is in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.

The cheerleaders performed part of their upcoming competition routine. Hailey is on top on the left.

Dance Company also performed (Hailey is the one with her eyes closed...)

But the most entertaining performance of the day goes to the Jackhammers--Senior male cheer/dancers.

They did a whole routine to "Feliz Navidad" and even threw some sexy into it...

Garrett is wearing the Wildcat #11 shirt without tights...

I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the high school assembly today!

St. George Expedition Relay

Team Run Walk Crawl was up for trying a new relay--St. George Expedition 50-mile Relay on Dec. 3, 2011.

Karen started us off in 36-degree temp.

I thought all three of these runners looked very "special..." ha ha Heidi!

Michelle got to run 4.5 miles up Snow Canyon and got a beanie when she reached the top for her accomplishment!

I had a 7.3-mile "rolling" leg and beat my 1-hour goal and ran it in 59 min.

Lauretta likes to throw in a skip during each of her legs.

I think this is the funniest incident from the race... Michelle wanting desperately for me to take a picture on the sly with "shorty pants" and then catching him looking at another bum at the same time!

After Michelle finished her 5-mile leg, she wanted to add another four and run with Lauretta. Now that's a marathoner for you!

7 hours and 43 minutes later we finished 50 miles!

November Birthdays...

Garrett turned 18 on Nov. 4. That was bittersweet for me... I'll only have him around for another year before he leaves on his mission.

Grayson turned 13 on the 13th. He was born on a Friday the 13th and it was a scary birth. I have been so blessed to watch him grow up and am sad that he's doing it so quickly!

Hillary turns 20 on Nov. 18! Having a 20-year-old child always seemed so far away... until now.

These three have always shared a family party in November to celebrate their birthdays as well as individual dinners at their favorite restaurants and gifts. It's a busy month for us but lots of fun.

... like I said, LOTS of fun!

Champions!

Grayson plays on Forza's U-13 Boys Premier team. They took state this year as they were the best in their division.

Garrett plays on the Young Men volleyball team for our ward. They won the Stake Tournament last Saturday.

Fun in the Tub...

Every year we go to the Utah State Fair on a Monday night for FHE. I always go to the all-you-can-eat ice cream tent for $3.00 (I average anywhere from 7-8 scoops of the best ice cream in the state--BYU Creamery, Aggie ice cream, etc.) and the others get a cob of corn roasted on the grill. This year the whole family went down the big slide and John bought a big hot tub.

It just arrived...

Masquerade...

Ready to head out to our friends' annual Halloween party. This year it was a Masquerade so masks were required. Very fun night with fabulous friends and FOOD!!!
