Memorial Weekend Activities...

Our Memorial Weekend started Thursday evening with the Woods Cross Tennis Team banquet. These boys comprised the Varsity and JV teams...

These are the fabulous coaches...
(Pugsley, Johnson, Kempema, Nielsen & Cole)

Grayson was awarded "Most improved playing his game" and is already looking for a successful season Senior year!

The next morning we drove to St. George where we met up with Hillary and Patrick. Grayson split from us for an arranged weekend with his friends, a rented house and a couple of chaperones. John, Garrett and Patrick went motorcycling and Hillary, Hailey and I had massages.

I loved seeing these two with lacrosse sticks back in their hands...

And controllers in their hands...

And bread to feed the ducks in their hands...

After church, a big Sunday dinner and Hillary and Patrick heading home to Irvine, the rest of us drove up to Pine Valley where it was 20 degrees cooler and the scenery was beautiful.

It's always hard to leave our 2nd home and head north. Good thing Cooper kept John company as he drove in the crazy Memorial Day traffic!

May Madness!

We ran the Vigor Big Cottonwood race on a beautiful Saturday morning. I ran the half marathon and ran a minute faster than the last time I did this race before Hailey left on her mission. Because I'm 50, I was the fastest woman in my age category so received a 1st place medal.

John, Hailey and Garrett ran the 10K and Hailey placed 2nd in her age category and Garrett placed 3rd.

John ran the race with his pal Kelly Passey.

We all enjoyed the free 10 minute massages at the finish line...

Got the garden planted and it's probably the biggest one yet!

Took my first limo ride with 10 other couples to my new favorite restaurant Valter's!

With the beautiful spring weather, I LOVE Sunday afternoons/evenings when the whole family is home for Sunday dinner and Cooper walks...

Got to tend cute 3-month-old Aria Tebbs when all of her other babysitters were sick...

Enjoyed another A Bountiful Kitchen cooking class with Si Foster and made pasta with sausage, tomatoes and cream; cranberry avocado salad with sweet white balsamic vinaigrette; french bread with strawberry coconut jam; tried and true chocolate chip cookies. The best part is eating it at the end!

Enjoyed watching these 7 boys on the Woods Cross Varsity tennis team play in the State tournament and take 2nd in State!

Unfortunately Grayson's first draw was against the guy who took 2nd place in the Third Singles division so he had a rough start but still contributed to the team win.

We attended Aria Tebbs' baby blessing and John and his brother Mark always enjoy joking around with each other...

Hung out with Grammy on our usual Tuesday date and then met Papa for lunch at Panda Express because Grammy wanted Orange Chicken.

Got a call a few hours later to go hang out at the hospital with John while he tried to pass a 4 millimeter kidney stone--ouch!

And the family's best friend Cooper turned 9 on May 26!

Region Tennis!

Grayson showed well at Region this year as 3rd singles on the Woods Cross Varsity team. He played Highland first and won handily...

He played Bountiful in the next round and it was tight the whole time. He won first set 7-5, lost 2nd 6-4 and lost 3rd set 7-5. There were some bad calls made at crucial scoring points for Grayson and he was quite frustrated.

Grayson played Bonneville to decide who'd take 3rd and he won 6-3, 6-1.

Our three Varsity singles...

Woods Cross Varsity took 2nd place as a team!

Grayson's biggest fans...

Receiving his Region 3rd place medal!

Celebrating Hailey!

Grabbed most of the family who could join us in the middle of the day for a birthday lunch at Hailey's choice of Mexican food at Brassas Grill in Provo. She got a new lacrosse stick (hers was stolen from her car) and gift cards for clothes, a frozen fruit dessert machine and a few other fun things. Garrett threw her a surprise party that evening at his apartment and she said it was an amazing birthday all around...

She's 21!!!

Here's my picture shrine of my baby girl--Hailey Eliza Tebbs, born May 12, 1995!

Hailey kept me extremely busy during her adolescent years because she wanted to participate in everything and was good at everything!

She performed with Ballet West in the Nutcracker 5 consecutive Christmas seasons as a buffoon, party princess, party girl (twice) and soldier.

Cheerleading and dance became a major part of her junior high and high school years...

But she wasn't done with sports! She started playing lacrosse in Jr. High as well and continued throughout high school becoming team captain for Woods Cross High School her sophomore through senior years, MVP, all-state, etc. The funniest moment I remember is when I saw her running across the field with her lacrosse uniform over her ballet tights with her hair in a bun as she came straight from ballet class to her lacrosse game. This girl could do it all!

I thought high school was busy but her Freshman year at BYU as a cheerleader had us driving to Provo several times a week to watch her perform at football and basketball games.

With her May birthday, sometimes we share celebrating both Mother's Day and her birthday together--best days for me!

I am in awe, inspired and motivated by this beautiful young woman as we share fun times, activities and trips together!

I thought my heart would literally break in two when she left for 18 months to serve in the Tennessee Nashville Mission...

...but the joy of having her return as an even BETTER version of Hailey was worth it all!

HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY my beautiful daughter, mentor and friend.
I love you!
