We decided to take the family on our first-ever Disney cruise and found one pretty last minute leaving from San Diego and repositioning in Vancouver, Canada. It was a 4-night, 5-day adventure with only one port stop in Victoria. Grayson and Caroline weren't able to come because babies have to be at least six months old and Bentley was just born. They were missed.
Just getting little bodies and luggage and strollers and car seats to the airport was hilarious! Once we arrived in San Diego Hailey, Julia and Hillary's family decided to walk the two miles from the airport to our hotel, Springhill Suites San Diego Bayfront. The rest of us took an Uber. We let the kids play at a park a couple blocks from the hotel, went swimming and dinner at a Mexican restaurant overlooking the ocean.
When the kids woke up they saw the cruise ship for the first time waiting in the port for us to board.
Once we were on the ship we got settled in our rooms, got some food and went to the launch party with all the Disney characters. The kids loved it!
Dinner our first night was at the Animator's Palate and we drew pictures and they posted them on the screen. The food is very good and the kids seem to be happy with the kids' menus and Mickey bars.
The rest of our days were spent meeting characters, kids club, family Bingo, swimming, dancing, lots of food and amazing evening shows.
The other two restaurants we enjoyed were Tiana's Place and Triton's. Since we had lots of May birthdays, those celebrating them got birthday cake on different nights.
Frozen was the favorite evening show by everyone and the kids were entranced the whole 90 minutes!
Meeting the princesses was a highlight and much anticipated by these princessess...
So much wonderment and awe as well as sleepy people!
The pool was warm, fresh water and the girls especially enjoyed it while the younger ones had fun at the splash pad.
When we got to Victoria we all went our separate ways to explore the beautiful city.
When we landed in Vancouver and caught the train to the airport, the doors closed before John, Julia and Scarlett could get on. The look on Scarlett's face as she saw the rest of us (including her parents and Chloe) pull away was devastating. Thank goodness Aunt Julia was there to take comfort her until the next train and they caught up to us. Riley was an excellent storyteller and entertainer until we were reunited, made it to the airport and caught our flight home!
We loved the cruise and Sadie asked Pops, "When are we going again?!!"
