Flowrider

The kids gave John a coupon for a 1-hour surfing session at Flowrider for his birthday a couple of months ago. He finally had a chance to use it Saturday.

John and I put the kids on Frontrunner in Woods Cross and picked them up at the Ogden Station, two blocks from Flowrider.

He tried to figure out the technique and tricks to staying on the board for more than a few seconds at a time...

I was worried John would pull the gal in with her skirt...

But no, he went down much quicker than she did.

He got lots of tries during his one-hour session.

...and has the sore body to show for it.

But wait, he let go of the rope...

and success!

After 45 minutes of intense effort trying to stand and then slammed, John decided to finish off with a little body surfing for fun.

The Peanut Gallery enjoying lots of laughs and wishing they'd brought their suits...

The Wedding

We spent our Friday here...

...celebrating the marriage of

Collin & Lacey King!

The happy couple and their parents...

It was a family reunion for us as we were able to visit with my nephew Cameron, his wife Erin and darling children from NYC...

Hillary, Hailey & Grayson were THRILLED to help tend all the cute cousins while we were in the temple... (Can you believe my sister already has 6-1/2 grandchildren???)

There was lots of this...

...and this
and of course, this...

Every child was assigned a buddy...

The reception was FUN! Beach theme with amazing food, shell/lantern decorations, make-your-own S'mores with mini grills, ice cream floats with many kinds of sodas--all set around a beautiful pool and yard. The DJ and dancing topped off the night...

Everyone had a blast...

...and wore themselves out.

Grayson did "airplane" with the boys so many times his muscles were sore the next day...

Lots of smiles...

...laughs

...and outright hollers

Hopefully the mother of the groom can finally relax for a week or so as she hangs with our parents at Capistrano Beach this next week...

The cake was delish!

Just glad neither of my girls caught the bouquet...

They're Back....!

After 3 long years in Atlanta (which really seemed like 5 or 6), the Kings have returned home to Bountiful!

The eager family members waiting to greet them at the airport Wednesday: Collin (getting married in 2 weeks), Taylor & Sadie (almost 2), Courtnie, Mom & Dad Milne, Kolby (3-1/2), Ashlyn (5-1/2)

Kolby waited so patiently for 30 minutes for them to come down the escalators...

The first glimpse...

Michelle, Steve and Connor.

Excited to see the crew...

Sadie is happy to have Mimi & Opa home...

Happy 4th of July!

My day started at 5:30 am as Hillary and I boarded one of the busses taking runners up Emigration Canyon to the start of the Freedom Half Marathon. It was a first for both of us. Hillary signed up a couple of weeks ago as she has wanted to do a Half Marathon for awhile. I signed up Friday when I felt bad that she was running it alone...

Needless to say, we both ran it alone as she took off ahead of me at the beginning of the race and finished 5-10 min. before me (still waiting for final race times for verification)...

I finished 13.1 miles in 1 hour and 57 minutes and was very proud of myself! AND I'm so glad it further solidified that I will NEVER run a marathon!!!

The race ended at the State Capitol and I think I'm going to stick with team relays. That was a long run! I do have to say the highlight of the whole race was when the bus driver asked if Hillary and I were sisters and when I said I was her mother and turning 46 in a few weeks, she responded that I was very "well preserved" for my age. Ha!!

We drove to my parent's house in Sandy where the other kids had spent the night, had a fabulous breakfast, and went to Sandy Days as we do every year.

We always try to take these photos...

... and found a cute photo op for my mom and dad!

We all went to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch--one of our favorites--and now Cooper and I are reading a book on my bed while everyone else is golfing... Happy 4th!!!
