Eight ladies and even more luggage requires a BIG van...
and I was the driver!
Carin, Misty, Lauretta, Heid, Kara, Heather, Michelle and I flew a red-eye to Boston and immediately hit the road heading south to Newport, Rhode Island. After an amazing lunch at Rosemary & Thyme Cafe, we toured the mansions of Newport.
We headed to Saturday Farm in West Harwich, Cape Cod for the next few days. It was a meticulously maintained 1790 house with a couple of wooly sheep and a beautiful yard. It housed 8 of us easily in separate beds with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. It was 1/4-mile from Sea View Park which fed to the ocean path and beach of the Atlantic.
Our 2nd day on Cape Cod consisted of exploring the penisula, driving through all the townships and finding lighthouses along the Cape Cod seashore. Ate amazing food--especially lobster rolls--and ended up at the tip in Provincetown.
We took the ferry to Nantucket for the day and took an island tour, walked around the cobblestone streets downtown and enjoyed another amazing lobster roll at Cru.
We said goodbye to Saturday Farm on day four and headed to Boston where we took in the Freedom Trail and split ranks with several heading to the Red Sox game and the rest touring downtown. Since I went to a Red Sox game in July with John and the boys I chose to go with the group that toured Beacon Hill, Mike's Pastry, Paul Revere House, Old North Church, Georgetown cupcakes, and shopping on Newbury Street. Everyone met for dinner at Lolita for the BEST lobster enchiladas, grilled corn and crispy fried carne asada tacos!
On our last day, I found my way to a sacrament meeting at the Cambridge 1st Ward and then visited the Isabella Steward Gardner museum of art and gardens before heading to the airport and back to reality.
Just had to share a few foodie pictures because I gained 6 pounds from the multiple lobster rolls, cannolis, pastries and homemade ice cream we found in every town!
I love these gals like sisters and would travel with them anytime, anywhere... Can't wait for Girls Trip 2016!!
