Spring Break Part 2

TUESDAY, APRIL 4
John flew home to SLC and Grayson and I flew to Dubai on Emirates which was an amazing airline. We felt like we were on a cruise ship and served two full meals, snacks and drinks. With the 16-hour flight and 11-hour time difference from California, we didn't arrive until Wednesday evening...

Almost felt like we were in Vegas at the Dubai airport, minus the gambling, smoke and garbage. Dubai is crime-free, litter-free, no homeless, midnight curfews and very safe.

THURSDAY, APRIL 6
We had nice accommodations at Savoy Central Hotel Apartments with a wonderful breakfast buffet each morning and easy access to the metro or Uber pickups.

Our first full day in Dubai started out with a half-day city tour... Dubai Museum, Gold Souk, Jumeriah Mosque, Al Burjab Hotel, Jumeirah Palm, and looking at all the amazing buildings and construction going on in the city.

Our afternoon and evening consisted of a Desert Safari with dune bashing, camel riding, Mediterranean buffet dinner and dancers.

FRIDAY, APRIL 7
LDS Church meetings are held Friday mornings in Dubai. Our Uber driver dropped us off at 8 am when the meetings were supposed to start but after an hour of waiting around with a couple of other travelers we figured out they were watching General Conference later that morning since they hadn't seen the broadcast from the previous weekend.

We headed over to the Mall of the Emirates which was beautiful and huge! There was an indoor ski resort and Grayson was excited to find a McDonald's for an American meal.

Later that evening we traveled thru the traffic for our Dhow dinner cruise on the Dubai Creek with another buffet dinner and dancers.

SATURDAY, APRIL 8
Took an all-day tour to Abu Dhabi which is the capitol city of the United Arab Emirates, visited a date market, toured the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and played at Ferrari World.

As we were on the bus driving into Ferrari World we spotted the Formula Rossi, the fastest roller coaster in the world. After putting on goggles to wear during the ride, Grayson and I decided that one ride was definitely enough. Felt like a rocket.

SUNDAY, APRIL 9
Watched the Dubai Fountain show next to the Dubai Mall, the largest in the world. Then we went to the top of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. We definitely experienced many world record holders this trip!

Besides having one of the greatest vacations, I enjoyed lots of sun and hot weather which I love!
