Books for Eliza...

I help with the Boulton Student Council. We meet every Monday for an hour and mostly do service projects. We have a good time. In February we sold Valentine Grams for $.50 and $1.00 to raise money to buy books for Eliza's Wish. We raised almost $400 and with a 30% discount from Barnes and Noble, we were able to purchase 80 books.

The Davis County Clipper came and did a story about it. (I don't know how to do the "here" buttons so you can automatically link, so here's the site...)

Eliza is a beautiful 6-year-old with metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD), a genetic disorder affecting nerves, muscles and organs--with no cure.

Eliza's mom Nikki was so sweet to bring the Student Council a thank you note and a bag of treats for each student.

I love the opportunity to work with these kids and see the joy they receive when they serve.

What a great project. I love to see kids helping kids, it gives me hope. And is there anything you don't do?

How fantastic for those kids to help build another Eliza's Wish Library! I would have loved to have helped pick out some of those 80 books.

Alicia, I will show you how to embed links to your post. It is really easy and SO COOL to do.

I was so touched by this post! What an exceptional thing to do for such a beautiful girl. Service truly feeds the soul.

Alicia we're due for another date night out. Let us know when you can meet us again for dinner! Perhaps this month.
