He had 6 close friends, our immediate family, Hillary and Patrick and my parents who came to watch him open it.
I think he was happy and excited when he read he would be serving in the Mexico Leon Mission, reporting to the MTC on Nov. 28. He took a couple of years of "high school" Spanish so he'll at least be able to say "hello" and "where's the bathroom"...
Everyone cheered and we are thrilled for this next adventure in his life. He will have wonderful experiences and opportunities that will continue to shape him into the man he is becoming.
Garrett was impressed President Monson had an "inked" signature and not a stamp.
Garrett will be a fabulous missionary and we are proud that he is willing and worthy to serve.

What a great step coming up in Garrett's life. I enjoyed his testimony today. You are a great mom and have terrific kids!
Congratulations to Garrett. He already is an incredible missionary to his friends. He has a sweet kindness about him that will touch the hearts of the people he will meet and associate with on his mission.
We loved seeing Hillary and Patrick on the news! What a cute couple.
