I've wanted to get John to watch tennis at the U.S. Open in NYC for a few years and he finally agreed to go when Hillary & Patrick said they would go with us. John and I flew in late Thursday evening, August 30, checked in to the Element just west of Times Square and close to the subway that would take us straight to Flushing Meadows.
Hillary and Patrick took a red eye from Vegas Thursday night so Hillary only had to take one day off of work and they arrived at 5 am Friday. Needless to say they were exhausted and tried to catch a little snooze on our 40 min. subway ride to the Billie Jean King Tennis Center where we had great seats in Arthur Ashe Stadium for the day.
We watched some amazing matches and were all in awe of Nadal's close win over Khachanov in a 4-1/2 hour match. Also watched #3 Sloan Stephens, Azarenka, Fritz and Thiem. So fun!
