Europe Christmas Markets Days 6-10

 DAY 6--

Our morning started with an early flight from Vienna to Brussels, Belgium and then we were whisked away in our starlit van to our first stop, Leuven. We got a couple of hours to explore, eat and shop before we headed to our final Belgium destination--Bruges.

After checking in at the beautiful Grand Hotel Casselburgh we walked around the most enchanting town of the trip and ate a wonderful meal at Brasserie Raymond.

DAY 7--
Started our day off with a walking tour at Market Square and made the rounds of the gorgeous city.

Found the most narrow street in the whole city..

Had an afternoon chocolate-making workshop and got to take home all we could make!

We took a canal tour which was fun and enjoyed more free time that evening shopping, exploring and eating!

DAY 8--
Started our day at a waffle-making workshop--Beglian waffles--not the liege waffle that Belgium is also famous for. This sent me down a rabbit hole of food tasting/testing the rest of the day. Found the best liege waffle at both a food truck at Chef Albert store, delicious frittes and lots of locally-made candy and chocolate!

During my free time instead of shopping I attended a free harp concert and it was so entertaining! So glad I chose to stop in.

Finished the night by the Bruges Canals at a Hallmark-famous hotel across the way featured in "Love, Romance and Chocolate."

DAY 9--
We spent our last full day in Belgium traveling from Bruges to Ghent and took a walking tour through the quaint town where it rained the whole time. We were actually really lucky to only have had one day of bad weather the entire trip.

We walked down this graffiti alley where street artists are allowed to created spray-can art to their heart's content.

DAY 10--
I was so happy to have two extra seats next to me on the 11-hour flight from Amsterdam to SLC, however, the lady at the end of my aisle was noticeably sick and the lady behind me coughed the whole flight home!

Needless to say, I wasn't extremely surprised I tested positive for Covid a few days upon my return...
